Examining global airlift requirements and optimising asset capabilities

Military Airlift 2009 saw a superb panel of military and industrial experts come to London to discuss the key issues surrounding this vital area of military capability. Military Airlift 2010 promises to be no different and the topic remains just as important.

The ability to transport troops and materiel across the world to far-off postings is crucial to our Armed Forces – indeed strategic airlift has been a pillar of recent military activities and allows for power projection far beyond national borders.

On a tactical level, our military leaders rely upon both rotor – and fixed-wing aircraft to deploy troops in situ and for the further provision of food, water, fuel and ammunition, often in very hostile environments.
